Somethin' Else Rears its Ugly Head

I had read about this "council" before and kinda pooh-poohed away any intent to exert additional control over folks.  After all, the effort to coordinate National Guard and Reserve unit activities within the CONUS has been an ongoing effort of government for at least the past 40 years.

Just about the time I got my tin-foil hat unwrapped and straightened out, it looks like I'm going to have to go do some more research to find out whether this smokestack has any heat.

The implications are scary, sure ... but there's a part of me that says, "I can't put anything past him and his minions."

Comforting to know we will all be "protected" by this bunch. I hope the next president has a lot more sense and reins in the Gestapo, I mean Homeland Security.

Um, I guess you folks are too young or live too far north to know about the little incidents at Little Rock, Arkansas back in 1957 and in Oxford, Mississippi in 1962.

In each case, the President took command of the state National Guards in violation of all applicable laws.

But, hey, the need justified the deed---so not to worry.

Anybody who thinks that states control their National Guards is naive.

Just add it to the list.

By the way Mickey I sure like that: "find out whether this smokestack has any heat."

If this is just "one more" of a myriad of boards, why bother creating it? Or could it be a smokescreen for other activities? There are governors from both parties selected for this farce (have they all accepted?), so maybe it's just some "pretend bipartisanship" to cover other, less savory actvities. Be careful of what stickers you have on your bumpers!
