How about: "What did YOU actively do the past 30 days..."
Feb 10th, 2010 at 12:30pm

I see a lot of postings here in the "Suggestions for New Topics" section that don't really suggest any new topics, that are responses to previous posts and getting way away from the topic at hand sooo...  Thought I'd take a stab.  How about the following for a new subject:

A place to post what you have directly and actively done in the past 30 days to promote the "conservative" agendas of Liberty, Freedom, less governmental intrusion, Second Amendment and more broadly our Bill of Rights.

A thread NOT there to post good ideas, but maybe to show off your talents in regard to what you've DONE to promote "us", if you will, in the past 30 days.  Not six months ago, or back when, or any "I remember the time I..." kinda stuff, but the last 30 days from any posting to note what a person did.  A place to boast and show off how you recently and actively helped to promote our Bill of Rights and Liberty in general, and yes, concentrating on gun rights would be fine.

No going off on tangients, but keeping it to single postings of what a person did and not a place to submit ideas only.  Not what someone else did nor what you plan to do or tried to do.

Any posting should include at least one activity done by the poster in the previous 30 days to promote our cause.  If a person wanted to respond to a previous post, it must include a new activity done by that person in the previous 30 days.  No posts in other words that would be simply responding to any previous post.  Responding is fine, but must include a previously un-noted activity done by the responder in the previous 30 days to help promote Liberty.

A place to boast and show off how you've helped us!  ...Yet keeping to the constraints described herein.

A concise record of what we've done thereby passing along those good ideas without simply flapping gums, er, fingers on keyboards with recommendations or ideas and clouding it up...

Would that be a good idea for a new subject?

OK, here's what I do, all of the time:
I maintain continuing contact with my state and federal legislators, and I let them all know what my wife and I think about what they're doing, pro and con.
Our federal Senators are a pair of hoplophobic fools, but I keep after them anyway.
However, our federal Representative is pretty solid on gun rights, and our state legislators are mostly pretty good.

I am working toward replacing our federal Representative, though, because even though he's OK about guns, in every other area he votes the straight Democratic line, including for health care "reform" and for the Patriot Act.

Poor Steve.  I'm sorry you have bad representatives.

I'm lucky in that regard, because I've got three who support 2nd Amendment.  So, I don't write them letters.  But I do write letters to every hoplophobic fool I can find, hoping against hope that by sheer repetitition something I say will finally get through.  At the same time, I've been trying to identify legislators in other jurisdictions who I think are just uninformed or ignorant on 2nd Amendment issues, and to write them letters supporting actions that are positive steps towards assuring my freedoms.  I have no idea how many I've written in the past 30 days.

In the past 30 days I've also donated about $50 to the campaigns of some out-of-state folks who are pro-gun and who look like they've got some chance of winning in elections.  Between now and Nobvember I'll probably contribute that much or more.  As long as I can't find ammo, I might as well spend it for something positive.

I joined the GOA.  Finally.

I joined the TSRA, again.  (I let it lapse a couple of years ago - doh!)

I try to keep informed and read (every day) the newsletter put out by Buckeye FA, and Steve Wenger, plus some political ones that often comment on RKBA issues.
