Gun Owners of America is backing Sharron Angle in the United States Senate race in Nevada, and we have compiled a list of 42 reasons why Harry Reid MUST be defeated.

This is one of the top races in the country and one WE MUST WIN! If any gun owner or sportsman has any doubt if Reid is pro-gun or anti-gun, just read the 42 Reasons to Defeat Reid, then decide.

Dundunnit, old fella. Bye-bye, Harry! Hello, someone new.

My biggest problem with getting rid of Harry is that we would inherit Schumer, if we didn't win enough seats in the Senate. If we win enough seats to make easy passage of anything in the Senate a certainty, I don't really care who is sitting in the Cat Bird Seat. Maybe a little constant exposure of Shumer in the press would be a good thing.

I don't care how he answers their questions about the 2nd Amendment, he will always toe the liberal progressive line when it is time to vote! It may be time for some brand new leadership for the National Rifle Association!

Reply #4 - Aug 5^th, 2010 at 9:05pm Right now I would suggest that the candiate opposing Harry Reid (and the Nevada Republican Party) put together a strong poll watcher organization. He will try to steal the election (as was done in MN and PA) and the SEIU is strong in Las Vegas.

If you are a member of NRA (I believe most forum members are) I urge you make your views known to them. Harry Reid's Second Amendment voting record is not good. I have sent a donation to Sharron Angle. This is the year to support Second Amendment candidates anywhere they are running. But let us members keep up the pressure on the NRA.

I think instead we should support Gun Owners of America (GOA) until NRA does some house cleaning. And I'm a life member.

Just reading an announcement that the NRA has refused to endorse Harry Reid based on his vote on Obama's two Supreme Court nominees. NRA, of course, views both nominees as Anti-Gun activist. I am pleased with this as a member and am convinced that the expression of opposition to Harry Reid by many, many members had an effect. Occasionally organizations get offtrack as do individuals. Welcome back, NRA. Grin

It may not be a complete conversion, but just a step in the right direction. NRA members need to keep up the pressure. NRA sees itself as a single issue organization based on the Second Amendment and has been involved in many local cases that made better gun laws as well as their involvement in the better know Supreme Court cases. However a laser beam type focus can also have its limitations because with it comes tunnel vision. As I see it, the First and Second Amendments are affirmation of pre-Constitution God given rights and if we lose one we will lose the other. I don't want to overlook the good that NRA has done but we must keep letting them know when they are in danger of drifting off course. Embarrassed

For example, we will not support a candidate that is "Pro-Abortion" -- Therefore we are not interested in any of our N.R.A. dues ending up supporting some liberal just because they gave the right answers on gun issues.
